SDC-LEAGUE HEALTH PLAN
The SDC-League Health Plan is a multi-employer Plan that is maintained and operated according to collective bargaining agreements between contributing employers and SDC, subject to the provisions of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). You are eligible to participate in the Health Plan if you are employed under one or more SDC contracts and sufficient employer contributions are made to the SDC-League Health Fund on your behalf.
These descriptions are SUMMARIES ONLY. For more complete information, please contact the Contract Affairs Funds Liaison at (212) 391-1070 ext. 242 or (800) 317-9373. You may also contact the Fund’s Third Party Administrator, Benserco, Inc. at (201) 947-8000. Email us at Health@SDCweb.org.
You are eligible to participate in the health plan if you are employed under a Stage Directors and Choreographers Society contract and sufficient contributions are made to the SDC-League Health Fund on your behalf.
Beginning July 1, 2017, to be eligible for benefits, employer contributions of at least $1,400 must accrue on your behalf during a six-month contribution cycle as outlined below. In addition, your first rehearsal date(s) must fall within the corresponding six-month cycle. Note that the start date of your eligibility will be based upon both an adequate contribution level and the start date of your rehearsal period(s), regardless of when the contributions due on your behalf are paid.
CONTRIBUTION CYCLES & ELIGIBILITY PERIODS
- If $1,200 accrues for you from January 1, 2017 through June 30, 2017, you have eligibility from September 1, 2017 through February 28, 2018.
- If $1,400 accrues for you from July 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017, you have eligibility from March 1, 2018 through August 31, 2018.
Corresponding changes will be made to the threshold for a year of coverage. The contribution threshold for a year of coverage beginning September 1, 2017 will increase from $2,400 to $2,600 (based on contributions accrued during the January 1, 2017 – June 30, 2017 contribution cycle). The $2,600 threshold will be in place for this one period only and represents the total of the $1,200 contribution threshold for six months of coverage effective September 1, 2017 and the $1,400 contribution threshold for six months of coverage effective March 1, 2018.
Effective March 1, 2018, the contribution threshold for a year of coverage will increase to $2,800, which is double the $1,400 required for six months of coverage (contributions accrued during the July 1 – December 31, 2017 contribution cycle).
If contributions accrued on your behalf in a six-month contribution cycle exceed $1,400, you may apply the excess to the following cycle to help meet the minimum eligibility level.
